Save South Sudan and the entire world by electing Hillary Rodham Clinton President!

“We won. We won. We won” applauded a room full of mostly women congregated at a posh Canadian hotel that Tuesday November 4, 2008 when Barack Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States of America and again on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. The room was full of brilliant, influential, accomplished and beautiful women who were acutely aware of the significance of electing the first ever African American President in the United States of America for their movement to win fundamental human rights for all the people of the world! The women assembled in the luxurious hotel that historic day originated from all socio-economic and racial backgrounds but they had a common trait – determination to fight tooth and nail for rights guaranteed by law and elaborated upon in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is a trait Hillary Rodham Clinton also possesses and brings to the Presidency of the United States of America.

The objective of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is to attain world-wide homogeneity in observing and enforcing rights that belong to every human being on earth but are being asphyxiated in countries around the world including South Sudan where both the Charter of the United Nations and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights are being horrendously violated and misappropriated with help from unscrupulous individuals! Many of the women in the hotel room that momentous day Barack Obama was elected President of the United States of America refer to themselves as feminists, a vastly misunderstood label whose essence is dedication to defend, compel and ensure total realization of the inherent dignity, equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family which South Sudanese are being denied with impunity by a failed government that is being buttressed by crooked individuals!

Like the women in that hotel room, Hillary Rodham Clinton is fully cognizant of the necessity to homogenize human rights for all people world-wide that is why she seized the momentum at the 4th United Nations World Conference for Women in 1995 to proclaim “Let it be that Human rights are women's rights and women's rights are human rights once and for all” (https://youtu.be/6V9mHmeK7XM).

South Sudan attained Independence on July 9, 2011 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7okF15IeSXE&feature=player_embedded). However, a mere two years later, continual violation of both the Charter of the United Nations and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights culminated in genocide and a war that may go down in history as the most brutal war of all times according to a report commissioned by the African Union and various accounts (http://www.peaceau.org/uploads/auciss.final.report.pdf). The new war in South Sudan that began with genocide on December 15, 2013 raged on until a purported agreement dubbed “THE AUGUST 2015 AGREEMENT ON THE RESOLUTION OF THE CONFLICT IN THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH SUDAN (ARCISS)” was forced on the belligerent parties in August 2015 without addressing the human rights violations that triggered it.

Allegations of backroom deals and underhanded manoeuvres to arrive at the mock agreement run rampant as do brazen charges that the legal incongruity was collusion by conniving parties to kill Riek Machar and wipe out his forces so that the abuse of the rights of South Sudanese can continue unimpeded.  The people making the unabashed incriminations are adamant that the accused individuals knew that their self-styled “agreement” was a hoax because it contravened all the basic principles of legally binding agreements in their entirety but they used it to lure Machar and his soldiers to be killed in South Sudan – a modern day “extermination camp” where millions of South Sudanese are being systematically murdered the same way Jews were massacred in Nazi Germany while the world stood by and did nothing. It is now obvious that the people of South Sudan were not involved in the negotiation of the sham “agreement” by design, in total contravention of the country’s Constitution, the Charter of the United Nations and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Consequently, the latitude to commit horrendous human rights violations which is being funded using the people’s resources has continued unceasingly but it can be stopped with a Hillary Rodham Clinton Presidency because she has a hard-fought legacy to protect that will be damaged if she doesn’t walk her talk at the 4th United Nations World Conference for Women in 1995 (https://youtu.be/6V9mHmeK7XM).

As Canadians, we couldn’t vote in the American elections that November 4, 2008 and again on November 6, 2012 but we could cheer vigorously and even influence the outcome of the elections through a remote campaign like this one! When Barack Obama was being proclaimed winner of the 2008 Democratic Presidential Primaries and Hillary Rodham Clinton issued the classiest of concession speeches (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHxPHKM6sPE), I recalled the words of a Caucasian colleague.

“America will have a female President one day but there will be an African American male President first” my colleague had stated matter-of-factly. Then she had provided an explanation for her assertion while educating younger colleagues about feminism, its connection to the bigger fight to win rights for all oppressed people in the world and the reason why an Obama or Clinton presidency was a win-win for the people of the world in 2008 and beyond. In other words, America and the world will also win big by electing Hillary Rodham Clinton as the next President of the United States of America. This is because she brings to a heartless world solutions that only women have the God given capacity to spearhead and implement. Elect Hillary Rodham Clinton so that we can go to work immediately to halt the abominable human rights violations spinning out of control in South Sudan and other countries around the world.   

“This afternoon at 1:30pm East African Time, the Kenyan authorities deported and handed our brother and comrade James Gatdet Dak to MI in Juba. Two black vehicles picked up Gatdet at Juba Airport and immediately took him to unknown locations in Juba. Despite the pleading of the US government, the UNHCR, rights groups, our SPLM-IO top leadership and many of our diplomats, the Kenyans have decided to hand him over to the enemy. This is beyond disappointment!” read a chilling message posted in a South Sudan forum. The message sent chills down the spine because Kenya, a progressive country by comparison and signatory to the Charter of the United Nations and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights blatantly violated the human rights protections enshrined in both documents. Another chilling post listed 15 other people Kenya planned to deport to South Sudan so that they can be subjected to the Kangaroo court that almost cost the lives of innocent South Sudanese falsely accused of treason and plotting to overthrow the government at the initiation of the genocide in December 2013. Luckily for these South Sudanese, their lives were saved because the international community worked in earnest to intervene as it should now do for James Gatdet Dak and the other refugees Kenya plans to deport to South Sudan.  By its cruel actions, Kenya under Uhuru Kenyatta has ruined its ranking in the world.

“Evening comrades! Below is the list of those to be deported next to Juba as soon as possible, along with any active IO officials and members within Kenya: 1. Dr. Adwok Nyaba 2. Gen. Oyay Deng Ajak 3. Dr. Majak de Agot 4. Dr. Cirino Hiteng 5. Mr. Mabior Garang de Mabior 6. Hon. Henry Odwar 7. Mr. Stephen Par Kuol 8. Hon. Manasseh Zindo 9. Ms. Sandra Bona Malwal 10. Mr. Peter Marcello 11. Mr. Lam Jock 12. Mr. Aggrey Idri 13. Gov. Agel Machar 14. Gen. Martin Abucha 15. Mr. Stephen Dayak.”

Because Kenya contravened especially the Articles below in the Declaration of Human Rights as it allegedly gets ready to continue going down the slippery path many countries around the world are walking, James Gatdet Dak and others now face certain death at the hands of the punitive and lawless government of South Sudan.  His only crime was exercising the right to free speech which is guaranteed under the Charter of the United Nations and the Declaration of Human Rights. To the chagrin of some of the individuals who had supported and admired Uhuru Kenyatta, son of Kenya’s legendary Jomo Kenyatta for respecting due process and fulfilling a court order to appear before the International Criminal Court, Gatdet’s deportation to the killing fields of Juba was allegedly ordered by him (http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2014/10/kenyatta-netherlands-hague-face-icc-charges-201410802514574650.html).  To that effect, Jomo Kenyatta must be turning in his grave because his progeny has now effectively trashed his hard won legacy.

THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS

ARTICLE 28) Everyone is entitled to a social and international order in which the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration can be fully realized. ARTICLE 30) Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein.
