COLLO GLOBAL ACTION FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 7th, 2015.
Collo Global Action would like to seize this opportunity to congratulate Collo gallant forces for their victory this morning Saturday, March 7, 2015 over the barbaric ethnic Militia forces of Riek Machar.
CGA thanks our Collo heroes for the valor and heroic sacrifices made in liberating Wadakona the capital of Manyo County of Upper Nile State, and for bringing back the lost stability to northern region of the Shilluk Kingdom.
CGA recognizes the ultimate sacrifices of our martyrs, we wish our wounded a quick recovery.
For many years Collo had failed to realize a war was being waged against it by the tribal hegemonies in the Greater Upper Nile. Is it because Collo elites, intellectuals, and politicians are not able to see the growing threat and the targeting of Collo welfare or are they turning a blind eye just to protect their personal turf?
Collo must now move stiffly and trade carefully for birth of a “new order” in South Sudan. All must come together, put aside their difference, and unite to usher Collo into the new era, else Collo might become marginalized for a long time with meaningful survival that lack royal dignity that Collo have had historically.
No one should remain silent in the face of the destructive tribal forces that repeatedly have been launching aggression on Collo land. All Collo must expose the motives of the so-called White Army massacres and the ethnic cleanings perpetuated against the innocent Collo people in December 24 th , 2013 and mainly in February, 2014 in Malakal and Collo villages. All must mobilize resources to face the ethnic cleansing perpetuated by tribal hegemonies for this war has threatened the existence of the Collo Kingdom.
Collo and all the communities of South Sudan must reject and refuse to be the human price for this senseless tribal war which has cost thousands of lives and displaced millions. This senseless war started as a power struggle in the ruling party (SPLM) but quickly exposed the weak social fabric and the unfinished work to prepare South Sudanese for Nationhood.
Collo must by all means confront the attempts of the nemesis to marginalize the community by all means. Particularly, the Collo youth must resist the expansionistic attitudes of some neighboring tribes that want to encroach and occupy the Collo land using military power.
Collo kingdom should not be used as a battle field. Therefore, all the Collo sons who want to bring the war into the Kingdom must be silenced all together with their supporters who want to create confusion in the media. Never again will Collo be under a mercy of someone else. All good Collo must understand that no one can make a difference from the peripheries. All Collo nationals must be the principles in the center of power in Malakal to ensure the security of the citizens of Upper Nile state.
CGA calls on all peace loving citizens of Upper Nile State to unite and call for the removal of the governor Simon Kun Puoch for his failure to protect the citizens of the state. Governor Simon Kun is a real partner in the loss of many lives and the insecurity in the state and should have resigned if he had iota of dignity.
CGA urges His Majesty, Reth Kwongo Dak, to take his royal lead to bring back peace and livelihood to his great Collo Kingdom.
CGA urges the United Nations to deliver humanitarian relief assistance to the people in Malakal, Wau Shilluk, Kodok, Tunga, Wadakona, and villages that are in dire need of the relief.
Furthermore, we urge IGAD and the United Nations Security Council to take immediate action to bring peace and security to South Sudan and to hold account those who have massacred thousands of the Collo people and displaced thousands of them from their dignified livelihood.
There should never be reconciliation without justice.
Long live Collo Kingdom
Long live Collo Heroes
Forward ever, backward never
