UNSC denounces shooting down Russian chopper in South Sudan - The Voice of Russia

The resolution, co-authored by Russia, the UK, France and Azerbaijan, points out the need for bringing those guilty to book.

A Russian helicopter Mi-8 that worked in South Sudan under a UN contract was brought down on December 21st .

All four crewmembers died. South Sudan officials have admitted that the chopper was brought down in mistaken identity, although the South Sudan military had been notified in advance of the upcoming helicopter flight.

Russian Ambassador to the United Nations, Vitaly Churkin, criticized the South Sudan authorities for an extremely sluggish inquiry into the incident.
