It Is Not in the Interest of South Sudan or its People to Support Rebellion in ... - Sudan Vision

Khartoum - Darfur Regional Authority described Sudanese government’s announcement of the necessity to start talks with South Sudan on security dossier as “very important”. It said we cannot tolerate South Sudan’s support to Darfur armed movements to destabilize the region. The Authority at the same time downplayed attacks launched by some armed movements backed by South Sudan on some regions of Darfur.  It said the acts were aimed at obstructing the implementation of the Doha Agreement that brought about stability of security testified by the international community.
The Chairman of the Regional Authority Dr. Al-Tijani Al-Sisi said these movements are incapable of achieving this goal, especially after change that took place in Libya and relations among Sudan, Chad and the Central African Republic.
He affirmed that South Sudan is playing the role of the slain Gaddafi’s Libya in supporting rebellion, but, he said it cannot continue in  that because its conditions cannot bear that because its new and fragile state at the same time.
While speaking on Radio conference show yesterday Friday, Al-Sisi added that SPLM has been trading on the issue of Darfur with the help of some circles in the international community to achieve strategic interests in South Sudan, affirming it is not in the interest of South Sudan or its people to support rebellion in Darfur because if Sudan acted in a tit-for-tat manner, South Sudan would undoubtedly be harmed.
He said that South Sudan state’s leadership should realize that its back is not covered as it believes because Zionist lobbies that are pushing it to attack Sudan have their vested interests in South Sudan, which are not necessarily in line with South Sudan conditions, adding that these lobbies may drag South Sudan into a catastrophe.
Al-Sisi said it was necessary for government in Juba to review that stance now. “I don’t think its back is covered by these lobbies in its war on Sudan.”
He affirmed that Darfur rebel movements were mistaken to back South Sudan’s claim saying that Heglig is part of South Sudan, a move he described as a “strategic and ethical mistake”. “If I were in the boots of the opposition, I would not cooperate with a country to invade territories of my homeland so that country annexes them to its territories,” Al-Sisi said, affirming that the regional and international community mocked at these movements collaboration with South Sudan in those attacks.

"I don't know if those movements which participated in the aggression on Heglig are aware of this issue. Assuming awareness, those movements should immediately join the SPLM; and if those movements are not aware, then they should reconsider the issue and withdraw from supporting the SPLM" Al-Sisi said.
He reiterated his affirmation that Doha agreement implementation process is progressing satisfactorily after the reasonable flow of funds from the Minister of Finance and National Economy, adding the Regional Authority received the vehicles for the ministers and commissioners besides the US$200 millions which represents the government commitment in supporting Development and Reconstruction Fund.
Al-Sisi pointed out that the preparation for donors' conference is going on expressing hope that the conference achieves its aspired objectives especially after the affirmation that the USA will participate in the conference.
On the priorities of the Regional Authority, Al-Sisi cited that the return of the IDPs and refugees, reconstruction, and preparing the repatriation areas are the top priorities.
He affirmed that the negotiations door is still open with the armed movements to join the peace course.
He added that there are appreciated efforts from Qatar State and the mediation in making contacts with the armed movement and the coming weeks will reveal the outcome of Doha Forum activities in this regard.
