Tom Rhodes helped initiate South Sudan's first independent newspaper, The Juba Post, in 2005 in the capital, Juba. He was the editor of the paper for more than two years, as well as a contributor to various media outlets. Rhodes is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya, as a consultant to the Committee to Protect Journalists, but travels frequently throughout East Africa.
