(MENAFN) South Sudan penned a couple of agreements with China on infrastructure development for the East African country to begin the overhaul of a bridge and a health facility.
China, as per the first deal, will extend South Sudan with a grant to rehabilitate its Jur River Bridge and construct a 1.48km road connecting the bridge to Wau city.
Under the second document, South Sudan will commence the second phase of a plan to develop and upgrade Juba Teaching Hospital, the country's largest public health facility.
"We are really happy that China is among the very few countries that are still supporting the socioeconomic development of South Sudan. China has supported our people when others are shying away. I thank you for the support you are giving to our people," a foreign affairs ministry official stated.
