Addis Ababa March 23/2018 South Sudanese Ambassador to Ethiopia James P. Morgan has denied rumors that his country has requested for relocation of venue for 3rd phase of revitalization process.

In an exclusive interview with ENA, Ambassador Morgan said that the embassy is shocked upon hearing the circulated rumor of relocating the venue because "it never was our stand".

Noting that it is not the intention of the South Sudanese government for relocation of venue, he said rather it is committed to the fruition of revitalization process.

In this regard, the Ambassador said the South Sudanese delegation will arrive at the weekend to take part in the 3rd phase of High-Level Revitalization peace process.

Stating that it was a rumor spread by others that intended to take advantage of it, the Ambassador said those who acted in the dissemination of this “are not happy with the relationship of Ethiopia and South Sudan.”

If South Sudan does not want the peace talks to go on here, we have an official channel whereby my government can write an official letter, he added.

“My government has responded to this rumor that we are ready to come to Addis Ababa and we have no any idea as to why the peace talk should be relocated?” the Ambassador questions the misguided dissemination of the rumor.

Noting that both Ethiopia and South Sudan have had a very strong relationship over the past years, he pointed out “South Sudan and Ethiopia, we have been enjoying our historical relationship and will continue.”

“South Sudan will never have such feelings and will continue to work with the government and people of Ethiopia and believes that the peace process which is being conducted in Addis Ababa is the only way that will bring peace to the people of South Sudan” he emphasized.

He appreciated the unwavering stand and support of the people and government of Ethiopia, in those difficult times to the present.

“My government feels that this revitalization process is the only hope for bringing peace back to South Sudan,” Ambassador Morgan stressed.

It is to be recalled that the parties unable to agree on some of the issues of permanent cease fire and transitional security arrangements were set to review their positions and come up with ideas to close the gaps on February 16, 2018.
