The newly appointed coach of the national football team-the Bright Stars arrived the country on Monday.

JUBA, 06 March 2018 [Gurtong]-Coach Ahcene Ait-Abdelmelek from Algeria was appointed by the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) last month to take up the job from interim coach Bilal Felix for one year.
"I am glad for the accommodation and appointment as the new coach and I am committed to work for the people of South Sudan," Abdelmelek told reporters upon arrival in Juba. "I am confident to offer all my knowledge and skills to improve the football team in South Sudan," he added.
He will start preparing the bright stars for the African cup of nations qualifier against Mali scheduled for September this year.
“This is my first time in South Sudan, I think with more time in one month, two months, we can give you more information on the team of South Sudan,” he said.
