BOR, November 23, 2015 [Gurtong] – The Episcopal Church youth and Jol-wolice on Sunday came together and marched in Bor telling Christians to prepare for the birth of Christ next month. Bor’s Diocesan Spokesperson, Maluak Philip Deng, said that the event is meant to inform the people about the birth of Christ.
“So we are informing people to get their attention and tell them that the birth of Jesus Christ is almost to be celebrated in Bor town,” Maluak said.He said that the group plans to expand their activities to other Counties including the Counties under rebel controlled areas.
Jol-woliec is a group that trains the youth and Sunday schools on religious matters. Majier Deng Anyieth, the Jol-Woliec Chairperson of Bor town High Deaconry urged South Sudanese to have peace among themselves so that the festive season is celebrated with joy.
“We are trying to inform the public regarding the birth of Jesus Christ so that they shall be ready,” Anyieth said. Ayen Aluel also said that peace in South Sudan has come at a perfect time as people wait for the festive season.
"We are very happy and glad that South Sudan will have peace implemented before Christmas day. so I am hoping to have both peace and Jesus day celebrations in good faith," Ayen said.
