Improving the quality of education has been a major focus for Uganda in the last decade, with a number of policies, reforms and strategies introduced and tested. This drive to improve the quality of education has been prompted by research results of student performance in public examinations and numerous government and its education partner reports. UNICEF Uganda’s focus on improving the quality of education has been prompted and informed by the priorities defined by the Uganda government, as outlined in the Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP), ESAR priorities and the recognition of a compelling need.
