What is Dh?g C?ll?? Who are C?ll??
Thursday, April 25, 2002
Well, Dh?g C?ll? is one of the easiest languages spoken by the people
of South Sudan now a day. According to the researchers, Shilluk/Dh?g
Language is easy to learn through writing, reading, speaking or Listening
by using computer or with out computer.
Dh?g C?ll? is divided into two sections: (a) Dh?g C?ll? Men Ny?n (which is now
readable and writable on any computer), and (b) Dh?g C?ll? men K?ggi D?ngi (which is
not readable or writable on some computers).
Dh?g C?ll? has so many advantages. Technically, you can be able to use Dh?g C?ll?
(Shilluk Language) using computer in any work place if you are train as IT member.
Secondly, you can use Dh?g C?ll? to design your own website or webpage if you know
Dh?g C?ll? and you may as well be able to translate some computer programming
languages in Dh?g C?ll? if you are good enough in computer. Thirdly, if you are
able to compose at least 2000 words in Shilluk/C?ll? language, you could be a one of
publishers of Shilluk language (Dh?g C?ll?) in the future. You can also chat with
Dh?g C?ll? using hotmail; you can give ?PowerPoint presentation using Dh?g C?ll?,
and can use outlook, FrontPage and anything that has something to do with Microsoft
software can work with Dh?g C?ll?. If you combine Dh?g C?ll? with book, computer,
and other technologies stuffs, you will be one of the C?ll? masterminded in
Shilluk/C?ll? kingdom. Try it today and you will see how beneficial it can do to
you.
Does Dh?g really exist? Well, you never know exactly. Just after the New Testament
(W?nyi Jw?k Men Ny?n) was published in Shilluk Language, (Dh?g C?ll?) Dh?g C?ll? had
become one of the easiest languages in Sudan. Right after that, the Old Testament
(W?nyi Jw?k Men K??gi D?gi) should have been published just after the New Testament.
Nevertheless, some thing went wrong; C?ll? themselves did not seem to have courage
to study Dh?g C?ll?. Some say, ?we have enough; the one that we are speaking is
enough to us and no need to study Dh?g C?ll?.? Ki dy?r, Y?na Nyim?a, y? dwata c?ggi
kedhe ?d gwedd me Dh?g C?ll? men acy?gi ki y?n ma Dh?/Dh?g C?ll? nuti th? wala nuti
l?nyi thyew. C?ggi ki b?li kenya ak?bi wa en, ka y? kedhi ?d gweed Dh?g C?ll? kipa
y? dwada ng?dh? kinia, ?da dhaanh? men ob? be nyudhi y?n ki k?dhi gweedi m?gani yiji
K?m-py?t?r (Computer). Kel?g y? ba yenge p?dhi Thudan, ya rum? kini thyew, ?ji nut
ki p?nha ab?di y?n anan.? C?ngu ri wun ka wu g?ddi wun ki ?W?ny? Yiji Y?m??
(website) kip? ori wun pw?nyi wun ki Dh?g C?ll?. Dh?g is need for the survival of
your culture, history, and identity
Generally, C?ll? are the people who live in the Shilluk/C?ll? Kingdom, (Upper Nile)
South Sudan. They are very organized and have their own set of laws to guard them.
They speak one language, have one culture, one leader, one R?dh, King (R?dh, Kw?ng?,
the current R?dh), and are very respectful in term of human dignities and liberties.
In [my] opinion, most of C?ll? are born as minder readers (psychologies); they know
whether someone who is talking to/about them is really telling lies or truths; know
when and why to make a good decision... Meanwhile, they do not know something about
their language being the easiest language in Sudan. Most of them do not know how to
read, and write Dh?g C?ll?. Though they speak and listen, they still muddle up Dh?g
C?ll? (Shilluk Language) with either English (Dh? N?ng-lidh) or Arabic (Dh? Bw?ny).
As C?ll?, you need to be fluency in your Language in four ways (Speaking, writing,
listening and reading). To be a real C?ll?, you need to keep your culture by
learning your language in details, and then learn other language as one of your tool
of communication.
What do you say to someone who may ask you if you were Shilluk? Don?t you answer
that, ?Yes I am Shilluk/C?ll??? Later, if he/she asks you to write Shilluk
Language, you say that, ?I did not study my language.? Now you see there is some
thing missing. You do not know your language in thoroughly; you cannot even write
?M?dhi ri y?n ayingi w?di ?? You cannot even read ?W?nyi Tyelli Gweddi Ki Dh?g
C?ll?.? That is not very Shameful of you Nyim?a, but you need to do some about
learning Dh?g C?ll?. A C?ll? language expert would be able to translate 200 pages
English/Arabic? book into Dh?g C?ll?. If you do not know your mother tongue
comprehensively, through writing reading, speaking and listening, you are about to
lost your identity, culture, and tradition.
[I] cannot go further than that. Please cook your mind today and [I am] sure some
one is outside there waiting to teach you Dh?g C?ll?. If you are willing to
collaborate, she/he will help you get through learning Shilluk/C?ll? language, so
that you can pass on your message to C?ll? community easily throughout the world.
