Event: South Sudan Freedom Celebration. The aim of the event is to celebrate the outcome of Southern Sudan Referendum results.
WHAT: SSYPD is a non-profit, non-partisan advocacy organization that seeks to promote peace, stability, civic education, and democracy in South Sudan, marginalized areas, as well as Southern Sudanese in Diaspora. Community advocates, Leaders, political leaders, and concerned individuals will speak about the importance of peace, unity and development.
Pre-Celebration Symposium will include representatives from the Government of Southern Sudan, US Institute for Peace, USAID, University of District of Columbia, and Deloitte to mention a few. The Symposium will start at 5:00 P.M – 8 P.M
WHY: For its part, having thoroughly contemplated the profound weight of this occasion, SSYPD immediate mandate is to: First, provide opportunities for interactive and constructive dialogue among youth in South Sudan as well as in Diaspora. Second, is to raise awareness within the international community so that key facilitators of the CPA like the U.S. remain engaged to ensure that the will of the people is in the end respected and honored.
