President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Thursday 25/8/2022 South Sudan's security advisor Tut Kew Gatluak, in the presence of Director of Egypt's General Intelligence Service (GIS) Abbas Kamel.
The meeting was attended also by South Sudanese Minister for East African Affairs Deng Alor Kuol, Minister of Higher Education Science and Technology Gabriel Changson, Minister of Peace Building Stephen Par Kuol and rapporteur of national security in South Sudan Ramadan Mohamed Abdullah.
President El Sisi received a message from South Sudanese President Salva Kiir. The message was delivered to the President during a meeting with South Sudan's security advisor Tut Kew Gatluak.
The message dealt with the latest political developments and the peace process in South Sudan along with issues related to bilateral ties.
Meanwhile, President Sisi welcomed the South Sudanese delegation, asking it to convey his greetings to the South Sudanese President.
Egypt is determined to transfer its vast experience in drawing up a comprehensive development strategy to South Sudan, especially in the fields of urban planning, infrastructure, roads, transportation, education, irrigation along with other vital sectors, affirmed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
President Sisi also affirmed Egypt's keenness on supporting security and stability in South Sudan.
South Sudan's security advisor voiced his appreciation to Egypt and its people and leadership.
He also hailed the ongoing development in the bilateral relations between Egypt and South Sudan in the various spheres.
South Sudan is looking forward to benefiting from Egypt's pioneering experience in pushing forward the construction process, in a way that meets the aspirations of South Sudanese people, Gatluak said during the meeting.
The two sides also exchanged viewpoints over a host of regional issues of mutual interest, including the problem of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
