South Sudan national police service (SSNPS) said on Friday it had intensified patrols countrywide to deter security breaches ahead of the festive season.
Daniel Justin Buolo Achor, a spokesperson of the police service said that law enforcement agencies have been deployed to strategic areas in the country to prevent security lapses during the festive season.
“For us, in Juba, we have boosted security and divided the capital into sectors that are also divided into subsectors, and this time the sector is led by a Lieutenant General,” Achor said.
He said that adequate police officers had been deployed along the major roads linking states to the capital including the highways to neighboring countries to offer protection to travelers.
“For us as the police with other organized forces, we are out, so that our people celebrate the Christmas and the New Year in peace. We advise both the national and foreigners to be careful and responsible during the festive season,” Achor said.
He revealed that more than 3000 police officers will provide security along major highways during the entire festive season. Enditem
