Caritas Switzerland and Luxembourg (Caritas) are Roman Catholic aid agencies and member of Caritas Internationalis. We work worldwide and adhere to international humanitarian principles (NGO code of conduct). Our scope of work reflects 4 priority areas: disaster relief, self-deter-mined development, social security, cosmopolitan and tolerant society. We encourage people to take charge of their own fate and do this by promoting local initiatives that improve the living conditions of the socially disadvantaged in a sustainable way; advocating the conservation of natural resources; supporting civil conflict resolution and peace building; cooperating with local partners and strengthening their own commitments.

We have a regional office in Nairobi and country offices in Hargeisa (Somaliland) and Torit (Sudan). The Kenya and Uganda programmes are coordinated from Nairobi.

Tasks

• Office and project administration including filing and record keeping

• Human resource management

• Camp management

• Purchasing and logistics (inclusive of fuel and store management)

Qualifications

• Degree in business administration or a related field

• At least 4 years work experience in administration of which 2 years in a management position

• Minimum age is 28 years

• Good oral and written English communication skills

• High levels of patience and cross-cultural adaptability and sensitivity

• Knowledge of and work experience in Sudan and with an NGO is an advantage

• Ability to work under pressure, independently with limited supervision

• Work experience in a development organisation would be an asset
