Taha and GarangOf-course you will be bewildered by this title and many of you will be outraged by this posing. However, the truth must be told irrespective of their hurting connotations or effect.

This ananlysis is in conformity with the current events that keep on emerging from day to day as we approach the convetion of the party, given the circumstatial evidences and instability in so many southern states and the northern sector of the SPLM party.

1. The Abyie protocol.
Since the CPA signing on the 9th January 2005, the protocol is marked no. 6 and placed under the presidency to monitor and suppervise the implementation until the Dinka Ngok goes to decide whether to be part of the south or remain in South Kordufan before the plebicide ensues for self-determination in 2011 for the south Sudan. The Dinka Ngok of Abyie is not unanimous on either option, which makes the task more difficult. The expert report on ABC is not made public so as to judge which is what. The wisdom would have been in coexing the NCP through the presidency to look into the report and try through political persuation to reach an amicable understanding regarding the issue. However, the SPLM in anpresidented move went on strike for 67days and succtioned the GONU with Abyie issue in the fore position. Because nothing was achieved besides the reshuffle, the SPLM ministers came back with no more than they had left. This was a blow in the face of the SPLM.
The second wrong move by the chairman of the SPLM manifested in the unilateral appointment of Cde Edward Lino and secretaries triggered the Massiria to name a governor for Abyie state(thank God he withdrew), but the NCP named its political committee for Abyie in an celebrated essclative manner which leaves the situation at the stealmate up todate. The question is; who is advicing the president of GOSS on these sensitive and volatile matters? Is it Luka Biong, Pagan Amum, Dr.Monsur, Deng Alor or the Americans? Who ever is, is dealing a blow to the partnership and putting it at edge of an unknown.

2. The Unity state; issue of Governor Cde Taban Deng.
Every Sudanese is aware about the interview given by Taban Deng in the News papers in which he smeared the D/Chairman of the SPLM and V/P of GOSS, Dr. Riak Machar who is already doing a wonderful mediation work between the LRA and the Ugandan government which should be commended as we regard our self as potential peace brokers given our experience with the CPA negotiation. The Sudan infect is in a position of negotiating peace in Somalia, DRC, Western Sahara-Moracco etc. Thus Dr. Riak Machar should have been encouraged and nominated for Nobel price for peace, instead of abusing him openly in the media. The question is; where does the Chairman of SPLM obtain the tolerance regarding insubordination of his vice, when he failed to swollow the SPLM SG being accused of plotting against him that sent Cde Tilar Deng out of the party? Who is advicing the chairman? The accustion against Cde Taban Deng has two arms, the insubordination and corruption. Regarding corruption accussation, the Chairman had announced zero-tolerance on corruption by a remark in Rumbek quote
"At the moment some members of the Movement have formed private companies, bought houses and have huge bank accounts in foreign countries. I wonder what kind of system we are going to establish in South Sudan considering ourselves indulged in this respect". Comrade CDR Salva Kiir Mayardit, Rumbek Joint Meeting, December 2004.
The chairman should have stoodby his principles and form a proper investigation committee from auditors and not ministers like Cde John Luk. But the most important point is; that the people of Unity state had fallen out with the governor Taban Deng, why still hold him? If the president of GOSS believes Taban is popular, let him be brought back by the poles in 2009. Cde chairman don’t you wander what kind of a system is about to emerge?

3. The empeached speakers;
The people of the south have not practice franchice for the long period of war, now they are breathing because of the CPA. You should be the most honored by seeing your people practicing the Westminister’s style democracy by removing their undesired leaders such as that happened with speaker of Upper Nile State and Northern Baharel Ghazal Legilative Assemblies. We thank you for standing by the peoples’ decission in both cases. The D/governor of Upper Nile state should not replace the speaker, because he does not differ from him.Any attempts from chairman to impose the impeached officials on the people shall not be welcomed and will make the president most unpopular.

4. The coming SPLM convetion;
The committee formed by you to prepare for the convetion of the SPLM in May 2008 is sinster. It is so designed to cancel participation of some SPLM-members and usarp the peoples’ right for participation in the convention, and bring forth some groups that have an agenda not pertaining to the SPLM welfare for the following reasons;
4-1. the petition raised to you through Cde Yasir Arman D/SG – northern sector accusing Dr. Riak Machar of plotting to topple and take over the chairmanship is the most dangerous and the zenith of fabrication in a very practical attempt to drive a wedge between the SPLM leadership by the northerners in the party. The architects of this plot are those you refuse to acknowledged as being anti-self-determination in an attempt to foster the New Sudan in collaboration with other northern parties to overthrow the NCP to climb the seat of the president of the Sudan for which you are not a nominee, but Cde Pagan as plainly put by the Americans at (Andrew Wilson’s center last December in America).
4-2.Thus the idea of bypassing the SPLM institutions (IPB & INLC) is not a good one. We were happy when you refutted the statement of Cde Malik Agar about the cofederation during your visit to Egypt and when Cde Wani Igga refused Pagan’s statement of re-negotiation of the CPA in the press conference in Khartoum.
4-3.The convetion of the SPLM in MAY could as well be the table of the last supper in which you are Jesus Christ. The only difference is that Jesus knew, but you don’t. So the coming convention is about rigging the poles and ridding of SPLM of the supporters of self-determination.

5. The Elections law;
The election ordinance about to be negotiated and the advocay of which is highten by those of Cde Yasir Arman to amend the already enchrined articles in the Interim constitution for proportional representation, is to avail room for the most unpopular members of the SPLM who can not pass direct election in their constituencies and the commonists who have no constituences to come up. How can some not be worried when their likes are suffering impeachment in their homes, let alone those who have no places to stand.Thus the wanton is rigging of elections and the unpopular to find seats?

6. Improper allocation of seats in the states’ governments will pour more oil on the fire.During the investigation by the upper house (Interim State Assembly) into the impeachment of the interim Upper Nile LA speaker, one member was blamed for the bad conduct of the speaker of the assembly this member comes from upper nile state, and condoned the activities of the impeached speaker. The President of GOSS is bent on installing this member of the Interim upper house as the D/governor for upper Nile state against the aspirations of upper Nile people which is likely to make decission unpopular.There are many crises all over the place in the south ranging from insecurity to bad governance to corruption.
The most upseting affair that is disgusting to all the southerners is the insensitivity of the president of GOSS in the issues eating at the chances of self-determination abolution through some elements in the SPLM leadership, thus knowingly or otherwise the SPLM IS BECOMING the number one threat to CPA.
