The educational process in Fashoda County of the Upper Nile State State is very slow due to shortage of qualified teachers to teach the new English curriculum.
The Ministry of Education in the Upper Nile State had eralier directed schools to use English as the language of teaching. Speaking exclusively to Miraya FM, the director of education in Fashoda County, Zacharia Juma, said that text books of the English curriculum are available in the County.
He said that the County suffers from a shortage of teachers who can teach in English.
Mr. Juma said that they are waiting for qualified teachers to be sent to the County by the Ministry of Education in the State.
"Education is moving positively in the County, but the difficulties facing us is that there is shortage of teachers in both qualification and numbers, and there is no accomodation," said Mr. Juma.
