Dear Collo,
Back in January this year pachodo.org was launched to be the first collo web space on the internet.
As all of you are aware, the site was launched with the intention of bringing the collo people together and allowing them to communicate with each other in an effective and better way. This coming togetherness and better communication was meant to be a stimulus for us all as collo to start thinking of ways of developing and advancing our land and its people in this post war era. To some extend I believe we did achieve some of our objectives but to be honest, I think we as collo can do far better than that. We have so many talents and qualities which if were utilise in the right way will benefit our entire collo nation.
In the last few months and on several occasions, I noticed that our website got deviated a little bit from its intended objective of bringing us together. Basically, it seems we got involved more in discussing internal conflicting collo issues which are of no benefit to our collo people or website.
It is good to be able to discuss some internal issues as apparently we have some serious matters which need to be addressed. However, on one hand, I don't think pachodo.org is the right place to do that as it is a public website and it is being accessed by different people of different nationalities, agendas....etc. On the other hand, I'm aware that some collo might still wish to discuss and make their stand clear and known regarding those issues.
As a compromise between those two conflicting interests' and as to keep pachodo.org a web space for all collo regardless of any affiliations the below two measures will be imposed on the website with immediate effect:
1) Controversial collo internal issues:
No more controversial collo internal issues (i.e. collo against collo) will be published on pachod.org public or main page. However, some articles can still be published (solely at our own discretion and after fulfilling certain professional criteria) in the registered members' area and as such it will not be available for public viewing. Anything written in defence of a fellow collo man against any other non-collo person will be published in the main page without any restrictions.
2) Posts and comments:
Posts or comments that are not respectful for other people in any way or which are of unacceptable standards shall be removed immediately and the poster might be banned from pachodo.org either temporally or for good.
It is unfortunate that such measures have to be imposed but the only other alternative is to just close the whole website down which is not acceptable in my view.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone who is making pachodo.org what it is today. Let's keep our website truly professional and let's use it for the benefit of our collo people as it was intended to be.
Any feed back or comments regarding this statement are welcome. Please use the comments form below or if you prefer you can send me a private message at my email:
God bless,
Lam Arop Yor,
Pachodo.org Administrator.
