Observations on Upper Nile State Referendum Result

An overwhelming joy is spreading across the whole Southern Sudan and among Southerners in Northern Sudan and in diaspora, as prelminary results of voting are announced daily. The offical result of Upper Nile State was released yesterday evening with 347,408 turned out to vote out of 352,278 registered voters making 98.61% percentage of voting.
344,718 voted for secession which is 99.23% while only 1,814 voted for unity with 0.52% with the remaining 0.25% representing the unvalid and undecided ballots. This is a clear indicator of the real will of the people of Upper Nile State in general and Chollo in particular as they where targeted with unfounded propaganda of being pro-NCP and automatically supporters of Unity. But if one looked at the Map of Upper Nile State which is the only Southern State that is bordering Northern Sudan in all directions except it’s Southern border, you must come to a conclusion that these are the people that defended Southern land against Northern expansion all through history and for that they paid heavily specially Renk, Manyo, Fashoda, Melut and Maban Counties. Such people cann’t betray the Southern cause in the last minute. Again when only 1,814 only vote for unity compared to like 7237 votes for unity in Western Bahr Elghazal with voters number not reaching half of Upper Nile Voters I think we shouldn’t accept such propaganda anymore. t the end I would like to congratulate the entire Southern Sudan population and our Governments (GoN, GoSS, State ), SSRC and our friends in the International Community for achieving this peaceful, orderly and credible referendum that is a real expression of the will of Southern Sudanese People.

Thanks a lot for your message, what I want to add here is that the result of voting 1814 people voted for unity in Upper Nile State opposite 7237 voted for unity in Western Bahr-Elgazal State for unity is the strong message from people of Upper Nile State to people of Bahr-Elgazal especially for their accusation to Chollo that its only tribe in Southern Sudan needs to sells Southern Sudan to the Jalaba. That what those people are saying always in News papers and Internet, that chollo people working with Jalaba. Now this is the result of the state but when we come to the counties we will fine the big different.
What was done by people of Upper Nile State in this voting it’s showing their history against the North since the time of the colonization, that why you got people of Upper Nile State were the first people join the movement 1983.

Thankyou Bacha Eng.Fromi allow me to tell all of you something that which is very intersted in chollo life that when a child deliveried in chollo commuity since Mahdies & Turkash lanscap up-to date, when mother disharged from the deliveryroom or after maternity period seven days or above by midwife or old wonman they make small occasion and driving her out of the house in few minutes by one or tow women giving and ecxange famous song said to paternity woman TeK-Tek Bownya-Abeeye, Tek-Tek Bownya-abeeye, other songs are warors like-Shaigeya Yu-duukluagyi yuutommeyi-keye jurmaggye, i thinks collo has many songs and repeable today ...that was because collo was confront with many types of enemy and experienced when the new child born deliveried he/she must know his/her who is enemy (known by Jalaba today).
i put this simply because we have pratiiced in village life and to the town even whom in diaspora life. golden chance gaven for referedum did not go to the hell its comes timly high figures result in Collo Kingdom,i think that we have achieved the goal that promised by our eldest mams&Dads for these wonderfull result 99,23%, infact many names have been created about collo nation but the truth alaws come first,let us unifed uder these high figures result and shows good job done among collo in Kingdom by our community and South Sudan in general. i appreciate Collo, and the head our majesty (Reth)for his supportings some cars to be use for transpoting in community aeras .gentlmen the time have come for unity let us express & forgive ourselves for the pass and rejoin our hands and looking foward to create postive new country with one tribe in South Sudan.yes we decided for sepration but we need study hard as one body and forget the pass forget the own interest bnefiting new generation and to raise their new shining Flag for our beloved land South Sudan which costed souls millons heros martyrs. from now onward decide to bless your community you will look so good for them and will look good for you.so that we face the out come and challenges for the new born which will seprated from his mother sudan,if osberved soon or not.
