What is evident from the voluminous GOSS, is the no mention or indication for southern unity as no ministry seems an indicator. The formation of peace ministry during peace time means something is up the sleeves.
In spite of the three southern regions’ representation in the cabinet, yet no gesture to inclusiveness of the southern spectrum. Every thing and the think sounds one party with an obsession of a one man show. During the war, the southern people inside the cities were supportive of SPLM/A during which they earn torture and the nomenclature of the 5th column and its ingredients of beating, torture and humiliation. These people of the south paid every possible help to strengthen the SPLM/A.
These same people failed to reap the dividends of peace after the signing of CPA in form of schools, hospitals, food or security, because the SPLM dominated GOSS failed to deliver in five years. Now again they have being disregarded in the in April elections by vote rigging and impending referendum, when they are the actual mob to determine the out come of the referendum. There should have been the ministry of unity of southern people and referendum. Which would have brokered the collective opinion and decision on the issues pertaining to referendum and the aftermath. Why southern unity is necessary to quell the fighting among the southern people, quell hunger, corruption, tribalism, and usurped lands. A divided house on itself does not stand. Hatred and driving wedge in between same people is bad politics. What then will be the function of the ministry of peace and CPA implementation, when southern people are daily flocking? With George Athor, Cobra,or Gen. Gai in unity state?.
For how long will the SPLM-dominated GOSS pretend to be doing well when the floor they are sitting continuous to get, cracking, with the unbearable weight of bad governance? Is it enough to declare independence of the south in SSLA in which many occupants came through rigged votes, but where corruption, nepotism and other irregularities. Did Pagan Amum need to lobby the Americans and the west to recognize independence of the south which is guaranteed by CPA? If the ministry of Pagan managed to fool SSLA into declaring unilateral independence like he did to arrest the SPLM-DC MPs by proxy, will he have made peace or declared war? Would this deserve being leveled ministry of peace or other wise? For the simpletons this formula seems to work well, but the impact on the strategy on peace and the CPA will be immense, tricky and clearly complex, that might derail the CPA maneuvered process.
What are the guarantees that the Americans will come to help with their war planes to rescue the south, is the shattered SPLA between Athor, Gen. Gai, COBRA etc. ready to do the job? When it comes to reality, most of the current leaders will abundant the people to go where there treasures are hidden. Where are we told that rich people fight wars? Most of them have made scarifies before, but it is doubtful that they will do it this time? Those who made money through the struggle, bought houses and expensive cars as Hummers have good reasons not to fight. What would he/she fight for? Wealth they got, power they got? Don’t tell me marginalized; but who are being killed in day time in Bor hospital? Who are being killed in Anakdiar, Abanimo, Yambio, Mumvolo, but who are being imprisoned? MPs, journalists etc. Thus no one will fight for them. For those who want to make history for themselves by careless statements or acts, they must be told that they have had their wages for having fought and for five years little had changed except the fattening bank accounts in foreign lands. There is nothing like peace ministry during peace. People must watch out that some serious cheating is about to unfold.
