With due respect to the undisputable contribution of Prof. Isaiah Abraham to the concerns of the people of Southern Sudan within the liberation and CPA context, I would like to employ this opportunity to correct some misconception that appeared in his article posted on some websites.
The misconception is that Prof. Abraham seems to analyze the emergence of the SPLM-DC under prudent leadership of the savvy politician and statesman (Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin) as a pressure tool to the SPLM leadership for re-instating him in the Ministerial Cabinet. He seems to misunderstand the decision of Dr. Lam by accusing him of being used and motivated by NCP. Wrong and No!!!
The SPLM-DC emerged and Dr. Lam Akol took the courage and wisdom to lead it as a robust opposition political (not military) party that aims mainly to check the SPLM with its wrong rule, especially in the South so that the liberal constitutional democracy could be reset to its right track.
Also the SPLM-DC emerged to take hold of governance and leadership of Southern Sudan in a transparent and fair democratic manner, and bring changes that will correct the dirty activities and negation of the fulfilments of the public good and rights as wrongly practiced by the SPLM incompetent and uncaring leadership for the past few years in the history of the country and its liberation struggle from marginalization and other oppressive disadvantages.
Thus, as much as it is desired for Dr. Lam Akol to be present at important fora of Public Policy Making and Implementation like the Ministerial Cabinet, yet his re-instatement is not the main aim of the SPLM-DC. That is why he declined Ministerial offers given him by the SPLM Leadership after they humiliated and intimidated him wrongly for deviations and crimes he had never committed.
The SPLM-DC aims at effecting "Best Change and Right Difference" in the lives of the Sudanese Citizens by offering them best cadres and leaders who are emotionally passionate and intellectually keen to achieve extensive and inclusive development and real peace with justice in all parts of the Sudan, especially the war-ruined areas like Southern Sudan. This is the rudimentary creed of the SPLM-DC and its team of leaders and members, whether in the presence of Dr. Lam Akol or his absence, because this serious new political party believes in mortality of human beings despites the best leadership gifts they may have.
The rationale here is that even if Dr. Lam Akol or Eng. Charles Kisanga or Cde. Anwar Mosa or whoever is entrusted with SPLM-DC Leadership now disappeared one day and one time from the face of this earth, the SPLM-DC will never have leadership vacuum or crisis, because it has been nurtured and matured as a political party that is built on institutions rather than personality cults.
