The Secretary General of the SPLM, Pagan Amum, told Miraya FM that the Dinka-Ngok tribe has the sole right to vote in the Abyei referendum, as according to the arbitration ruling it pointed that the area belongs to the nine Dinka-Ngok chiefdoms.
Amum further warned the SPLM may escalate the issue if the National Congress Party (NCP) attempts continue to retreat from its commitments, as he puts it.
In the same context, the Chief Administrator of the Abyei Area (AAA), Arop Moyak, said in press statements that an international technical committee will arrive in Abyei today to begin the demarcation of the area according to the map defined by the Permanent Court of Arbitration.
