BOR October 7, 2012 (Borglobe) – the council office in Bor town has issued an order to Foreigners using a water business in the state capital to all water distributors to register for operational Identity cards with the local office in Jonglei's capital, South Sudan.
“The water distributors in the town were operation without a law guarding them in their society so now we have started to issued them a letter for their works in the state.” James Mading of the local office said.
Ugandan and Kenyan Businessmen working in fetching water have been facing many difficulties from the policemen in their operation.
“We are facing alot of challenges from the policemen, they usually came and collected us to the office for the documents but reaching to the office, they just sign in our “warageh” Document and take some money without giving us the receipts or work permits. So we are tired of being here in this office always.” Hennery Ojongodi told The Bor Globe at Bor Town Council Hall.
Ojongodi said he always comes here two times a week for renewal of the document. “I come to this office every week for the document but no any document is given to me I just leave with my former once.”
Most of the foreigners who are fetching water for water distribution business in the town do get 100-200 South Sudanese Pounds in a day is one of the growing retail jobs in the town.
“Sometimes if one works very hard he can get probably 100 or more than 200 South Sudanese pounds in a day. The work is good to me because I can serve 40% of my commission in my bank account and send some little money to my children in Kenya.” Muwangi John said.
“We are not treating them in a bad ways, what we do is we are looking for a person who does not have the proper document or passport. If ones does not have any document we ask him to come for a registration in the office, this is what we do.” The officer Mading said.
