Since Turkish-Egyptian administration, Southern Sudanese people have never truly policed themselves. Thus, grievances got accumulated day-by-day, week-by-week, month-by-month and year-by-year till the Southerners voiced their dissatisfactions against foreign administration.

Personally, I agree with what bro William said," As long as Chollo is still divided we will be just wasting time to talk of representation". We the people of Chollo must change the way we behaved toward ourselves as people. Those who rally their supporters behind Chollo political leaders who are divided have also contributed into the current division that exists in our community. There are those who consider themselves as Pagan Amum supporters, and those who consider themselves Dr. Lam Akol supporters. This is a direct contribution to the division that exists in the Chollo community. I always say that we cannot change current situation in Chollo with same mind that created the problem. We must change the ways we behave in order to find a common ground. The division that exists in Chollo community today is a result of our greediness, selfish and pride. Dr. Lam and Pagan might not be the cause of current division because those who rally their support behind them might be the...

Thank brother Omony Albino for your correction. I appreciated what you said that, " there is no representation in army and police, but recruitment".
But I know the meaning of the words very well as you know them.
But the recruitment issue is different from country to country because sectarian and tribal and national structures within single nation.
Paulino Matip joined SPLA upon Nuer tribal support in order to have military balance with Dinka. Where is recruitment here.
Let consider Lebanese parlimentary and ministerial representatives. Half of parlimentary seats is allocated to Christian and other half is divded among Muslims (Sinni, Shia and Douros). Also, military recruitment is based on portion where Muslims or Chirstians could not excceed their given military representation number.
Why this happens in Lebanon? Because Lebanon is most sectarian divided nation in middle east. So each community is so protective of its doctrine and being within Lebanese sectarian community. ...

Oh mr Jowthab you have knocked the point.these two leader MUST unite for the sake of Collo otherwise people should come out with an initition to force them to unite and see who ever will refuse should be boycotted and let him look for supporters else where.should they both refuse people should seek a third way solution.the problem is not these two leaders but those who are more royal than the king, most of them have not participated in the struggle and therefore do not know how our people suffered and continue suffering while other tribes are enjoing the dividens of peace they did not pay for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't like the idea that we always try to distruct somebody efforts or his or her way of thinking. I think the author decided to address the things as they are and I respect him for expressing himself and his vision concerning the onging situation in Malakal while our politicians if any, dig their heads in dust as if they don't know what's going on due to their inferierism to speak up about their constituencies.
For Mr. Omony Albino I think the issues you talk about such as : Education, Health, Agric, forestry, fishery, social welfare, Roads and Transport, Custom and duty, Finance Etc are good. But they shouldn't replace Mr. William topic. If you feel strongly about them you should write about them your self ,instead of asking Mr. William to quit his topic.
We don't know who is the one who will bring the solution to our situation, therefore, whenever there is a proposal or initiative we should support it and let go forward. We can't debate ourselves before we debate the concern a...

I agreed with brother Omuny Albino that it will be a waist of time here taking about the presence of Bar El Gezale soldiers. Technically those are not the Bahr el Gazal soldiers but the SPLA soldiers. For a solder has no tribe. But I still thank brother William on his contribution;however, if there is any abuse made my those solder, then let point it out as an issue. We all know what happened to collo between 1991 to 2004. it brought a destructive and shameful division among our brothers with uniform. That must be one of the reasons .SPLA has an unexplained reason, but i do support, if the soldiers are well proportional regardless to where they came from. but about a half should come from a local community( collo). But it will depend on the ratio of collo in army.

I do not know what Mr Lwanyo meant by the phrase(our politicians if any)?but indeed we have pliticians at least two prominent figures in sudanese political scene. And also saying we have to confront others with out adressing our internal issues is impractical because these others know our internal division and are exploiting it to the maximum. If you are not united how can you face the enemy????!!!!!!!!

My brothers, thank you all for participation in discussing this article. Naturally people must differ in opinon.
Repetition is not a good habit. But Let me repeat myself because it seen we are ignoring insecurity in Malakal by saying, "IT IS WASTE OF TIME" to talk about arm and police structures.
Were Collo citizens victims in 2006 when government backed militan and SPLA clashed?
Was there an attempt to assassinate Dr. Lam Akol?
Is there ongoing looting in Malakal?
Dinka invaders in Collo invaded villages such as Pantanj are not allowing Collo villagers from doing their ordinary work. When Collo people present their complains to SPLA and police, those men in uniform constantly fail to consider people complains.
In their failure to consider such complains, could we search the reason behind their nulifying.
What are we waiting for more than these?
Shall we hold SPLM accountable for failing to enforce security?
Could we wonderingly ask is it because Collo people are not in unif...

Dear Bro,Olaw
What I meant was a politician who talk and work on our behaft, who can question the dis-representation of Collo in South Sudan government, not only in South Sudan government but also in our own State in which we are the majority.
So far to the best of my knowledge no politician has aproached the President Salva regarding Collo under-representation.If you have any one then prove my wrong and mention the fact.

That is quite true Mr. Lwanyo Awang Padiet. Each politician should be voice of people so that when people express their concern, that politician invest people voices as card. So since our politicians are not voices of their people, they have nothing to tell the president.
Many sayings that Collo people are divided between Dr. Lam and Mr. Pagan. No problem with who follow who.
One biological father and mother sons even twins could not be the same in approach and opinon. Other could selfish and other is generous, other could be weak and still other could be strong. No problem here since both sons serve their family.
But the problem with Dr. Lam and Mr. Pagan followers is emotioanl support rather than supporting their structural issues.
If Dr. Lam offer opportunity of education and other services to his follower and Mr. Pagan likewise, than one could fight to find his/her standing poisition.
Unfortunately, those supporters gain nothing from those leaders.
Let run a statisitic finding ...

As one who monitors this website on daily basis. I have come to realized that we always "look at the speck of sawdust..." in our brothers eyes without looking at ourselves as part of the community builders, who can also make a great influence in coordinating perspectives and actions, rather than criticizing our political leaders in their ideological rivalries and in their political agenda. Theoretical arguments always bear fruitless result, when our writing up are not interpretable into action across boundaries.
we need to learn how to take initiative, what to pay attention to, how to give direction to our initiatives, and where to focus our efforts since we have a lot of challenges which face our community. writing without taking initiative, our community becomes stagnant, because a true leader is the one who is able to create a way for people to contribute to making something extraordinary happen. May God bless you,

Hi brother Tipo William, Let me please express my sincerely heartfelt appreciation for your historical contribution. Our social settings are tore or uprooted causing family, relative and frindly alienations.
But, PACHOD.ORG connects Collo people again.
This is the greatly patriotic contribution and always I pray may God strengthen your team effort to achieve more.
Allow me please to say few word about criticism. Criticism is so important communicative manner for righteous people who believe in evolution providing that it is positive criticism.
Brother Tipo William, wounds is so deep in ourselves including our political leaders and common people because silnce is deeply becoming Collo culture making us to be similar to sheep. Since Collo people are becoming sheep, who will care about them because animal as sheep does defend itself without shepherd. Predator can attack them and eat as much as it can and sheep could not cry out for help.
For the weakness of the sheep, Lord Jesus used ...

Thank Mr/William for what you have said in response to my comment. I am not against criticisim, but against repetition of the same attitude. if one thinks of a problem too broadly he/she appears overwhelming. consequently, it suffocates his/her capacity to even conceive of what may be done.also we want to walk the talk. may God bless you abundantly,

Daily interpersonal contact could definitely result into good relationship and here is where friendship emerge.
Good friends never stop communicating. So let keep the ball rolling because I'm sincerely in need to converse with you brother Tipo William and with other Collo brothers and sisters as well as with all Sudanese.
Mr. William I agreed with you in saying, " we want to walk the talk", because action does follows the talk.
Examples, according to Collo traditional habit, if a man is murdered during Collo inter-village confrontation, women do crying and crying. Their crying could means two thins. First is healing themselves from unbearable emotional pain deep in their heart and memories. The second reason for crying is searching for solution which urge their men to retaliate immediately so that both villages could share pains.
WORDS OF POETS ABOUT CRYING.
Alfred Lord Tennyson wrote about woman whose husband had been killed.
"She must weep, or she will dies."

Mr Lwanyo I still disagree with u that we do n't have politicians bcoz being not doning anything to your people could be due to your stand beside them, this is why those who have power will try to isolate and eliminate you.then it is your verry people who can defend you,not abandoning you.Indeed some politicians had talked to Kiir about what is happening to us ,i remember he accused our gallant politician of being a expansionist!!!!Again this month a group of concerned Collo met him and relayed to him our grievances, and alot of examples which could be mentioned. At last let us not abandon our bigs but advise, support, and bring them on track so that we keep our unity whic is our key to triumph.

Ok for the sake of the argument let agree we have politicians. And I would like you and every Ocollo / Nyacollo to answer those questions:
What it means to have politicians while you are out of the cabinet.
What it means to have politician and you having hard time even to run your own State.
What is means to have politicians and your most educated, qualified, and experienced people are not getting job while under educated, qualified, and inexperienced people are getting the jobs.
Not only the SPLM politicians even the NCP they fail to turnover the governship for a decades. So what wrong with the whole politicians. Is because we do have common interest tp pursue?

Hi there. Thank you all for this revealing discussion through which I'm sure we would get redemption for Collo situation.
Some time ago, Collo people got infuriated and moved with their king, political leaders and common men and women against Dinka intimidation. Collo step and critiscism have detered or brought Dinka to rationalize not to underestimate Collo weight. If Collo were silence at that stage, attack could has been carried out against our villages. Therefore, we should thank and consider everyone who spoke out during such such redemptively unified move.
Meanwhile,we are still looking for more permenant solution by our continous online discussion and through other means conduct by villagers and others.
My brothers and sisters, fear of unknown outcome is always killing human strength lack of action. When warning of emerging Tsunami, Hurricane for example is display in T.V. screen, human become desperate and unwilling to help himself due to unknown consequences.
But after ...

Hi brothers.answering Mr Lwanyo'squestions is v.easy.but for the sake of general interest I would like to inform you that I recieved just now an e.mail from Malakal informing me that the same group of Dinka has issued a new paper asking collo to evacuate to the western bank of the nile!!!!!these Dinkas seem to be serious.WHAT ARE WE DOING???let us think and act accordingly.

thank you Dr/Olaw for following up what is going on overthere in our homeland. I don't know if this same group are following legal procedures in asking Collo to evacuate the area or they are doing it to intimidate our people, so that they will not do anything to develop Malakal. I think it is important to determine the source and motivation beyond this action, so that they can be confronted by their name.I do remember what Ali Osman said after signing CPA, that the southerners will not taste the fruit of peace. I am afraid that is one of their (NCP) tactics.

Instead of talking about what those Dinkas write regarding Collo. Is it hard for Collo distribute a MEMO telling those Dinkas their reality that they,re from Bhar Gazal / Abyei. And stop talking about Upper Nile land and Collo.

Yes Mr Lwanyo this is one of the results of brain-storming to come out with what can be done,it can be discussed within collo legal bodies.people should continue thinking to come out with tangible solutions for this issue.

Mr. William Okuch, there is no representation in police or army it is a recruitment. You better talk of other position in civil servant like: Education, Health, Agric, forestry, fishery, social welfare, Roads and Transport, Custom and duty, Finance Etc. I would like to assure that, as along as chollo is still divided we will be just wasting time to talk of representation. Other tribes are strong because they have potential leaders in GOSS but for the case of chollo whom do we have? In any politic people are suppose to rally behind one person, but since we are scattered any one will fine where he will fit.
